It's officially been a month since I left for college. So I just wanted to update all my friends and family on what's been happening with me and how I'm enjoying college.
My Dorm and Roommate
I am loving my dorm and my roommate! My roommate and I are really well matched, we both go to bed at the same time and then play on our phones or computers for a while. We both have similar levels of cleanliness, although I'm a little messier. (But I did clean up my room yesterday and it's beautiful, so Skype me before it gets messy again!) We both like very similar music.
My Classes
I get to take two teaching classes and my other three are general freshman classes. I'm taking communication for teachers, and math for elementary teachers. My general freshman classes are general psychology, accelerated composition, and western history 1762 to present. I enjoy most of my classes other than history, but I've never enjoyed history. My biggest disappointment is my math class, it's much easier than I wanted but I can't take any harder math classes unless I decide to emphasize in math with my education degree, but I didn't additionally want to do that.
I'm enjoying being home a lot, although I really wish I had a car and I'm really missing not getting to be there for my siblings' first days of school, but it's been good for me to get to be on my own and do my own thing. I get a free bus pass, and I love it, although going to target it way too easy now! I love the community surrounding my school, so many fun things to do, if only there were more jobs to be had. Overall, though, the best part of being here are all the opportunities to connect with other christians. I go to a Navigators group ran by some people my family knew when we lived here on Wednesday night and I'm looking to join one of their biblestudies. On Thursdays I go to the college group from one of the churches I loved before I moved away with my friends Katie and Michael. And this week I'm going to an orientation to volunteer at that church on Sundays in the children's ministry and I will go to the church on Saturdays or Sundays with friends.
